first_img Tags: Azam FcFUFAtopWakiso Giants Wakiso Giants players and some of their coaching staff training at IUIU in Kabojja recentlyInternational Friendly MatchWakiso Giants vs Azam FCStarTimes Stadium, LugogoWednesday, 08-08-2018The eagerly awaited build up game between Wakiso Giants and Tanzanian giants Azam FC will most likely not take place this afternoon.This comes after FUFA advised that the game should not be played unless the Big League side fields players of Kamuli Park, the side that was bought off by the Kabojja based money bags, over a month ago.“Wakiso Giants is not a registered club under FUFA, said FUFA Deputy CEO Humphrey Mandu in a phone interview with PML Daily.“Secondly, most of players have not yet been cleared by the federation so unless they use Kamuli Park playing staff, the match cannot go on.“The other issue is that the game is supposed to be an international game guided by the CAF regulations and with the above two in mind, it makes no sense sanctioning it.“We advised that it does not take place but if they go on and play it, Wakiso Giants will face further sanctions, Mandu concluded.When asked about whether the team is allowed to play games with other teams within the country, Mandu had this to say.“They are not registered as a club so i am not sure they can even play games with local clubs.It should be noted that Wakiso Giants played a friendly game with SC Villa last week, winning it 3-2 at their home in Kabojja.Whether FUFA sanctioned it or they don’t know about the game remains a unknown.When contacted, the team’s CEO Kamoga Sula acknowledged that the club is yet to complete its registration process with the Federation.“Yes we are yet to complete the registration process and we are still using the name Kamuli Park on our documentations.,“I am not sure if the match will go on as planned but i will soon be getting final communication from the CEO (Edgar Watson) in the next few hour.The game is slated for today (Wednesday) at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.Comments last_img read more
